In ancient times watchman would mount the city walls in times of stress to survey the scene outside the fortifications. He was situated on a spot from which he could monitor the approaches to the town. If a threat appeared, he would sound a warning and the town would shut its gates and prepare for battle.

Promises to Abram
12 Now the Lord had said to Abram:“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Binyamin Netanyahu: Powers gambled on our future
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis Jul 15, 2015, 9:16 AM (IDT)
The Netanyahu government, like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, can only beat their heads futilely against the iron wall Barack Obama has built for Iran with the nuclear accord the six powers signed in Vienna Tuesday, July 14. Israel has the most to lose. It has been downgraded from its favored status in Washington and replaced by Iran. By this big geopolitical step, the US President has shifted the ground in the region, not only dumping Israel but the Arab world as a whole - and, incidentally, the Palestinians as well.

July 14, 2015-Netanyahu calls Iran deal ‘historic mistake for world’
End Of Days News
“The implications of the agreement in the foreseeable future are very bad. Iran will continue sending terror cells in all directions, will continue to inflame the Middle East and worst of all – will take a huge step toward becoming a nuclear threshold state,” Hotovely said.
She said that Israel would use any diplomatic means necessary to prevent the confirmation of the agreement by the US Congress.
According to diplomats, the deal, which seeks to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions in exchange for sanctions relief, will place limits on the amount of nuclear work Iran can do over the next 10 to 15 years in exchange for the easing of economic sanctions.
It will still need to be ratified by Congress in Washington, and Israeli officials have indicated they will continue to fight for a stronger deal.
Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan told Army Radio the “details of the agreement matter little, so long as they [the Iranians] can ultimately acquire nuclear weapons.”

July 14, 2015- Landmark deal reached on Iran nuclear program
End Of Days News
"Today after two years of negotiation the United States together with the international community has achieved something that decades of animosity has not: a comprehensive long-term deal with Iran that will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Obama said from the White House, with Vice President Joe Biden at his side.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also praised the deal, speaking after Obama finished, as televisions in Iran broadcast the U.S. President's statement live, translated into Farsi.
"Negotiators have reached a good agreement and I announce to our people that our prayers have come true," Rouhani said in a live address to the nation following Obama.
The essential idea behind the deal is that in exchange for limits on its nuclear activities, Iran would get relief from sanctions while being allowed to continue its atomic program for peaceful purposes.

July 1, 2015-Obama announces opening of US Embassy in Cuba
End Of Days News
President Obama formally announced on Wednesday that the United States and Cuba have both agreed to open embassies in each other’s capitals following more than a half-century of hostilities between the two nations.
"This is a historic step forward in our efforts to normalize relations with the Cuban government and people and begin a new chapter with our neighbors in the Americas,” Obama said.
The U.S. Embassy in Havana is scheduled to open on July 20, the Cuban Foreign Ministry said.
The U.S. and Cuba have been negotiating the re-establishment of embassies following a surprise announcement in December that secret talks between the global foes had led to a landmark agreement.
