President Obama’s planned trip to Israel already has secured pledges from Israel and Palestine to restart talks

End Of Days News

President Obama’s planned trip to Israel already has secured pledges from Israel and Palestine to restart talks, according to a WND report this week.

Informed Palestinian and Israeli officials speaking to WND disclosed the Obama administration told both sides the talks would be aimed at creating a Palestinian state in what is known as the 1967 borders, meaning an Israeli retreat from some of the strategic West Bank and possibly some eastern section of Jerusalem.

But what if those talks didn’t matter? What if the U.S. opinion on borders didn’t have any weight?
That’s the message behind the video “Israel Divided: The World’s Plan to Divide God’s Land” by an organization called Proclaiming Justice to the Nations.

Its unique ministry is to educate media professionals, Christian leaders and Christians around the world about the biblical responsibilities to act against the “new anti-Semitism.”

The film will be screened at the 2013 International Christian Prayer and Action Event March 3 in Nashville, Tenn., in conjunction with the annual National Religious Broadcasters Convention.
Information about the events is available online.

Joining the event will be WND CEO Joseph Farah, who last year was presented with the “Ed McAteer Tree of Life Award” at the weekend.

PJTN President Laurie Cardoza-Moore made the presentation to Farah.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this award,’ Farah said at the time. “The late Ed McAteer was a great friend – as is Laurie Cardoza-Moore, who has taken up his fight to unite Christians and Jews in the U.S. and around the world.”

Also on hand will be PJTN advisory board member and WND columnist Dennis Prager, CBN Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell and Erwin Lutzer, senior pastor at Moody Bible Church.

Further, the No. 1 faith movie in the country for an unprecedented 40-plus weeks, “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” also will be screened.

The two-hour documentary released last March illustrates the striking parallels between ancient Israel’s fall and the decline of America since 9/11.

Farah, who produced the project, said he is immensely pleased with its performance. The documentary is a treatment of the best-selling book “The Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn, which has been on the top 10 of the New York Times list every week since it was released in January 2012.

Cahn also will speak at the PJTN event.

“A number of years ago, as I was standing at the edge of Ground Zero in New York City, I came across the first puzzle piece of an ancient biblical mystery and a prophetic message known as ‘The Harbinger’ that concerns the future of America,” explained Cahn, who helped write the two-hour documentary “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” and narrates it.

Cahn said he has found nine harbingers that tie the problems America has experienced since Sept. 11, 2001, with parallels that led to the destruction of ancient Israel.

“Before God judges a nation, He sends warning,” explains Cahn. “He sent warnings to ancient Israel. He even allowed its enemies to breach its borders in a devastating strike that would traumatize the nation. It was a wake-up call, the call to return to God. But the nation responded with defiance. God then gave nine harbingers of judgment, nine prophetic signs, alarms and foreshadows of what was to come. Now America is the nation in rapid departure from God’s will. And God likewise allowed an enemy to breach its borders in a devastating strike – the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It was, likewise, a wake-up call. But America, like Israel, has not responded with repentance, but with defiance. And now the nine harbingers of judgment have reappeared and have done so on American soil.”

The WND Superstore offers an exclusive bundle that includes “The Harbinger” and “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” at one low price.
In Isaiah 9:10, Israel’s national leaders utter a vow of defiance following an attack by Assyria. The leaders declared that the nation would not repent before God but would defy Him instead. Cahn reveals in “The Harbinger” – and in even more dramatic fashion in the movie– that beginning the day after Sept. 11, 2001, American leaders began repeating that 2,500-year-old vow, word for word.

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, immediately after 9/11, cited the Bible verse.

“Daschle has no idea what he is doing here,” explained Cahn. “He thinks he’s offering comforting words to a grief-stricken people, but he is actually embracing the spiritually defiant and arrogant words of the children of Israel, proclaiming the ancient and ominous vow of the leaders of that nation. He doesn’t realize it, but he is actually inviting more judgment on the nation.”

Cahn said that like the U.S., Israel suffered an invasion and attack. The people, however, responded with their vow to rebuild by themselves and not return to God. Cahn fears the name circumstances developed in the U.S., and continue even today.

“According to the ancient mystery revealed in the Book of Isaiah, if after that first calamity and warning, the nation doesn’t return to God but responds in defiance, it will end up triggering a second calamity,” he said. “It was because of this ancient key, that, seven years after 9/11, the American economy collapsed. In the days after 9/11, the Federal Reserve slashed the base interest rate in an attempt to defy the consequences of the attacks. That action put us on the path leading to the collapse of the American economy seven years later. In 2008, the government made a second fatal mistake, another ill-fated financial decision that would trigger the collapse of the American economy.

Amazingly, it took place on the seventh anniversary of the uttering of the ancient vow on Capitol Hill.”

WASHINGTON – Bills opposing the controversial National Defense Authorization Act have popped up in both the Indiana and South Carolina state legislatures.

The NDAA was harshly criticized by some as unconstitutional due to language in Sections 1021 and 1022 that allows for the indefinite detainment of U.S. citizens without due process.

Both bills would nullify the NDAA in its current form by denying law enforcement or any government official the right to carry out any act of detaining a citizen without due process.

In Indiana, the bill passed through the Corrections and Criminal Law Committee unanimously after testimony from sponsor Sen. Jim Banks and Elkhart County Sherriff Bradley Rodgers.

In South Carolina, the NDAA Nullification Act S.92 passed the Judiciary Committee 16-4. The bill was pre-filed last fall by Sen. Tom Davis who called Sections 1021 and 1022, “a direct threat to the liberty, security and well-being of the people of South Carolina.”

The next step for the bills in each state is to reach the floors of their respective Senates for a vote.

Shortly after the NDAA’s signing a bipartisan team including former Al Gore consultant Naomi Wolf and Ronald Reagan Justice Department official Bruce Fein went to work opposing the provision of the NDAA which allows for the detention of U.S. citizens.

“Journalists aren’t safe. Union leaders aren’t safe. Activists aren’t safe. Liberty is not safe,” Wolf, an author of half a dozen books, said during a conference call to supporters.

People Against the NDAA (PANDA) Indiana Team Leader James Kerner praised Bank’s testimony saying, “I suggest the ACLU, Occupy movement, Tea Party movement and Oath Keepers throw their full support behind Sen. Banks. He should be made a household name like Ron Paul.”

Indiana and South Carolina are not the first states to take up issue with the NDAA. In early 2012, shortly after its signing, the Virginia House of Delegates passed legislation to nullify it 96-4. Arizona passed similar legislation. Numerous other states and local governments are considering similar bills.

“Concerns about NDAA detention provisions transcend political party, ideology, and geography, and representatives in these diverse jurisdictions have stood up to resist an ongoing bipartisan assault on constitutional rights by federal officials,” the committee announced.

While a debate about the scope of the NDAA’s potential abuses continues to distract congressional policymakers, who voted without realizing the law’s terrifying implications, their counterparts in state and local governments are proving more conscientious, proactively acting on their oaths of office to defend the Constitution.”

Groups including the Tenth Amendment Center, The Bill of Rights Defense Committee, The American Civil Liberties Union and Demand Progress have all been working since early 2012 to oppose the NDAA.

The detainment portion of Section 1021 of the NDAA is not the only part that has come under scrutiny over its constitutionality. Federal District Judge Katherine B. Forrest ruled last year that Section 1021 was facially unconstitutional because it had the potential to violate the 1st Amendment.

A group of journalists and activists had sued President Obama, Leon Panetta and a host of other government officials stating that they were forced to curtail some of their reporting and activism due to fear of violating the NDAA. Among the individuals were Pulitzer Prize-winning former New York Times foreign correspondent Chris Hedges, MIT linguist Noam Chomsky and “Pentagon Papers” activist Daniel Ellsberg.

In the following interview, Hedges explains what has happened in the Hedges vs. Obama NDAA lawsuit to date, the next steps and what he sees in America’s upcoming future.

Foreigners arrested for trying to spread Christianity in Libya

End Of Days News

BENGHAZI, Libya (Reuters) - Four foreigners have been arrested in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on suspicion of being Christian missionaries and printing books about Christianity, a security official said on Saturday.

"They were arrested on Tuesday at a publishing house where they were printing thousands of books that called for conversion to Christianity," security official Hussein Bin Hmeid said.

"Proselytizing is forbidden in Libya. We are a 100 percent Muslim country and this kind of action affects our national security."

Hmeid said the government-affiliated security apparatus called the Preventative Security, for which he is a spokesman, had arrested an Egyptian, a South African, a Korean and a Swede who was travelling on a U.S. passport.

"We are still holding interrogations and will hand them over to the Libyan intelligence authorities in a couple of days," Hmeid said, without giving further details.

The Preventative Security apparatus is a parallel security body created during the 2011 war that ousted Muammar Gaddafi and made up of several rebel brigades which fought in the conflict.

Libya's central government has yet to impose its authority on a myriad of armed groups who have yet to lay down their arms, and with skeletal national security forces, often relies on them for security.

Egypt: Islamist Mob Attacks Christian Church For Being Too Close To Muslims, Police Stand By And Do Nothing

End Of Days News

Reuters: Supporters of Islamist President Morsi, Feb. 13, 2013
AsiaNews – “A mob, incited by local Salafi fringe, threw stones and set fire to the church of St. Georgas in the village of Sarsena, Tamiya District, in the Egyptian province of Fayoum, about 103 km south-west of Cairo. According to sources of the Assyrian International News Agency (Aina), the attack took place yesterday evening and caused damage, particularly to the dome of the place of Christian worship. The attack destroyed the towering cross on top of the building, and many of the icons and sacred images inside.

The local Salafist fringe lead the attack against the Copts, pitting the Muslims against the community, branding the church as ‘illegal’, because it is close to an area inhabited by Muslims and ‘for this reason has to be removed.’ They are imposing the demolition of the building and have prevented the priest, Father Domadios from entering. Some witnesses reported that the scene was also attended by police, who did nothing to prevent the violence.

The church of St. Georgas was built in the mid-80s and is a point of encounter and prayer for 200 Coptic families. About three months ago, some Muslims made a hole in the wall, to ‘monitor’ the activities of Christians. Yesterday the priest’s attempts at mediation proved worthless. He was joined by the local police chief, who arrived on site to try to find an agreement between the parties.

Firm in their positions, hundreds of Islamic extremists – in front of the police – started throwing stones at the church. The attackers injured – not seriously – some Copts and Father Domadios, who managed to flee to safety with the help of a Muslim family aboard their car.” Source – AsiaNews.

Saudi Arabia Arrests 53 Ethiopian Christians … For Behaving Like Christians

End Of Days News

The Saudis are forever trying to cast Islam in a positive light by calling for “interfaith dialogue” between Christians, Jews and Muslims. But all this means to the Islamist mindset is that when they speak, it is everybody else who must listen, or else …

By BosNewsLife – “Dozens of Ethiopian Christians, mostly women, have been detained in Saudi Arabia after attending a worship service in a private home, BosNewsLife learned Wednesday, February 13.

The Christians – 46 women and six men including three church leaders – were arrested last Friday, February 8, said the well-informed Religious Liberty Commission of the World Evangelical Alliance, or ‘WEA-RLC’, which represents evangelical believers worldwide.

It said the three church leaders – two of them women – were produced in an Islamic court in the eastern city of Dammam on charges of converting Muslims to Christianity.

Authorities were expected to release two of the Ethiopian Christians who have residential permits, but the others were due to be deported, Christians said.

‘We call on Saudi authorities to treat all those arrested with dignity, and release them immediately as there is apparently no evidence for any offense against them,’ said Godfrey Yogarajah, WEA-RLC’s executive director.

MORE INCIDENTS
‘Arrest of believers for peacefully gathering for worship goes against the spirit of Saudi Arabia’s promotion of inter-religious dialogue in international fora,’ he added.

This isn’t an isolated incident in the Islamic kingdom. In December 2011, Saudi authorities detained 35 Ethiopian Christians, 29 of them women, for ‘illicit mingling,’ after security forces arrested them raiding a private prayer gathering in the eastern city of Jeddah, Christians said at the time.

Rights activists believe the women were subjected to arbitrary body cavity searches while in custody.” Read more.
