Murdered Christian Children: The Price of Obama’s Pro-Brotherhood Jihad

Last Sunday, the Church of the Virgin Mary in Waraq near Cairo was
attacked during a wedding ceremony, leaving four dead and many wounded.
According to Dr. Hisham Abdul Hamid of forensics,
two of those who were murdered were Christian children—two girls; two
Marys: 12-year-old Mary Nabil Fahmy, who took five shots in the chest,
and 8-year-old Mary Ashraf Masih (meaning “Christ”), who took a bullet
in the back which burst from the front.
It should be noted that this scene—attacked Coptic churches and murdered Christians, especially on holy days and celebrations—has become a normalized aspect of Egypt’s landscape (see Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians, especially pgs. 42-43 and 56-62).
So too are the murders of Christian children increasingly common in Egypt. Indeed, along with Sunday’s two murdered Marys, back in July, another Christian girl, 10-year-old Jessi Boulos, was shot dead while walking home from Bible class. More

The Egyptian military has clamped a news blackout on the Sinai battlefield. One of four flashpoints is located on the Sinai-Gaza border where the Salafists are fighting to impede Egyptian military operations to block smuggling tunnels. Troops have fired bullets into the crowd of pro-Morsi demonstrators marching on the Republican Guard Headquarters located on the edge of Cairo's Nasr City. 'At least' three have been reported dead.
The stream of bullets followed unconfirmed reports of warning shots being fired into the air as the Islamist crowd gathered on Salah Salem, marching towards the barracks where the deposed President is being held. Three have been reported dead, according to AFP, amid eyewitness accounts of several causalities.

Ancient Egyptian Statue Moves On Its Own, Curators At Manchester Museum Say
Don't go running to mummy just yet: the spooky movements of this Egyptian statue probably have a logical explanation, even if museum curators are in de-Nile about it.
Staff at the Manchester Museum in Manchester, England say the 4,000-year-old statue, recovered from a mummy's tomb, has been spinning without anybody moving it, NDTV reports.
The 10-inch tall statue of a man named Neb-Senu was originally an offering to the god Osiris and has been in the museum for 80 years.
Up until a few weeks ago, the statue had appeared to be stationary.
"I noticed one day that it had turned around," curator Campbell Price, 29, told NDTV. "I thought it was strange because it is in a case and I am the only one who has a key."
Price told the Sun this week that "most Egyptologists are not superstitious people,"and said when he first noticed the object had moved, his first instinct was to wonder who moved it.

Israeli military, police, Shin Bet and special counterterrorism units early Monday staged their largest ever counter-terror exercise which simulated massive al Qaeda attacks coming in through Syria and Egypt against strategic targets and army bases. The scenario depicted scores of Israeli dead and hundreds injured, as well as the capture of hotels with large numbers of people held hostage. The exercise was planned secretly. Some of the units taking part received no advance warning of their roles until they reached the “targeted locations.” A senior army officer rated the exercise “satisfactory.”

Anti-government rioting sweeps Egypt

Egypt is lurching toward a “low intensity civil war.” Law and order is breaking down as armed gangs attack governors and burn emblems of government, and the ruling Muslim Brotherhood uses armed men to strike back. Neither the police nor the army has interfered to date. Army chief Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi promised Sunday, June 23, to preserve “the will of the people” from attack, without defining which side was “the people.” The opposition plans to launch Egypt’s third revolution in three years in massive June 30 demonstrations against President Morsi.

Jihadist persecution of Christians around the world is one of the biggest under-reported stories in media circles, says a Christian activist and expert on the issue.
Raymond Ibrahim, a Copt from Egypt—now living in the U.S.—says that Western weakness in confronting radical Islam has left the jihadists feeling emboldened. In his new book, Crucified Again, Ibrahim presents first-hand knowledge and investigation of widespread persecution.
“Although Muslim persecution of Christians is one of the most dramatic stories of our times, it is also one of the least known in the West,” he writes.
Ibrahim’s own country of Egypt is experiencing a resurgence of violence towards Christians, thanks to the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood after the downfall of Hosni Mubarak.
“As one of the oldest and largest Muslim nations, with one of the oldest and largest Christian populations, Egypt is a kind of paradigm of Islam’s treatment of Christians,” Ibrahim states.

At one point, leading Brotherhood member Mohammed el-Beltagy took the microphone and shouted: “we will repeat it over and over, Israel is our enemy.” Others echoed the call, and one organizer whipped up the crowd in a chant urging the army to launch a war against Israel to “liberate Palestine … from the sons of monkeys and pigs.”
Since the revolt that deposed longtime autocrat Hosni Mubarak, the Brotherhood — known for its anti-Israeli and anti-Western rhetoric — has largely avoided showing enmity to the West or its former foe on its eastern border.
Morsi himself has repeatedly stressed commitment to Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel, and won U.S. praise by brokering a cease-fire between Palestinian Hamas militants and the Jewish state just months after he assumed his post.
But both the Islamist president and his group have had a hard time melding their longtime anti-Jewish stance with new responsibilities since coming to power.
Earlier this year, Brotherhood heavyweight Essam el-Erian created a stir after calling on Egyptian Jews who fled the country to return, in what many saw as a sort of outreach to Israel. Shortly after the remarks however, an Egyptian TV program revealed older comments by Morsi, in which he described Jews as “bloodsuckers” and “pigs.”

Egypt’s Brotherhood calls UN women’s rights doc ‘deceitful’

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood sharply criticized an anticipated UN document on combatting violence against women, saying on Wednesday that it was “deceitful,” clashed with Islamic principles and undermined family values.
The text of the document has not been published because negotiations are continuing, regarding how to address sexual violence and rights of women to control their sexuality as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Diplomats and observers tracking the debate are optimistic of agreement before the two-week meeting of the UN Commission on the Status of Women wraps up Friday in New York. One participant said Egypt is seeking to introduce an opt-out clause to allow each country to implement the document according to its own traditions.
According to the Brotherhood, which has emerged as the most powerful political faction in Egypt since the 2011 uprising, the draft under discussion advocates sexual freedoms for women and the right to abortion “under the guise of sexual and reproductive rights.”

The IMF's stated goal was to stabilize exchange rates and assist the reconstruction of the world’s international payment system post-World War II. Finance Minister Mursi Saeed Hijazi says Egypt is working on an economic reform program and is focused on negotiations for the larger IMF loan, explaining why Egypt declined the $750 million IMF rescue.
He said Tuesday that Egypt’s economy is on the path to recovery.

Morsi to appeal suspension of Egypt's parliamentary elections

The court ruled on Wednesday that the parliamentary election law should have been vetted by the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) for compliance with the constitution before it was ratified.
In January, the SCC found problems with the an earlier version of the law and sent it back to the upper house of parliament, or Shura Council, for revisions. But instead of checking again with the SCC, the Shura Council passed the law and Mr Morsi ordered elections beginning on April 22 and continuing until June.

Egypt Struck by Swarm of Locusts Ahead of Passover

As a reminder to those who thought the account related in the Passover Haggadah might have been an exaggeration – think again. Millions of locusts have swooped down in a swarm from the sky on to the land of Egypt.
The locust plague struck over the weekend in the Giza region, home to a cluster of famous pyramids, according to reports in Arab media.
Officials estimated that at least 30 million of the insects have swarmed on to the fields and farms about 15 miles southwest of Cairo. The locust swarm is causing massive damage to agriculture in the area, Alwatan News reported.
In some parts of the Middle East, however, locusts are used for food – and one particular ancient type, known to Yemenite Jews, is actually considered kosher.
Residents were warned not to try to drive away the locusts themselves in order to avoid creating further damage. Instead, “Egyptian armed forces and border guards are attempting to fight the swarm with all means at their disposal,” said Egyptian Agriculture Minister Dr. Salah Abd Al Mamon.
“I ask the families living in the locust-plagues areas not to burn tires,” Mamon appealed. “This does not chase away the locusts, but only causes damage and could ignite large-scale fires that would cost in lives.”

Kerry talks economics, finds Morsi preoccupied with Islamizing Egypt

When visiting US Secretary of State John Kerry sat one-on-one with Egyptian President Morsi in Cairo, Sunday, March 3, he talked at length about Egypt’s calamitous economic straits, relations with Israel, democratization and essential reforms. He had hoped to find the Egyptian president amenable to getting to grips with his country’s fast approaching bankruptcy. In the event, Morsi nodded politely but, debkafile’s Middle East sources report, he was far more preoccupied with pushing forward the three-point plan he and the Muslim Brotherhood’s supreme leader Mohammed Badie have begun implementing:
1. The Muslim Brotherhood will not settle for a parliamentary majority in the coming general election – most likely in April or June; it is aiming for 100 percent of the seats.
2. To set the stage for this campaign, the Brothers have installed their loyalists in the governates of Egypt’s 19 provinces. The spreading of Brotherhood values in the national constituency is going full steam ahead across Egypt.
The MB turned to this course when they saw they had no hope of exercising total control over the restive capital and the protest movements springing up regularly in Tahrir Square. So they decided to build up their support in the country at large in the hope of making Cairo an isolated Island in the predominantly Islamist country.
3. To boost their popularity in the coming election, Morsi and Badie decided they could not afford the painful measures required by the International Monetary Fund for a $4.8 billion loan to tide the economy over its current crisis - spending cutbacks, downsizing the vast Egyptian civil service, reducing food subsidies and cutting away dead wood.
Instead, they dropped their credit application to the IMF altogether and so avoided mass unemployment and widespread hardship in the months leading up to the election.
However, the US Secretary of State sternly called the Egyptian president’s attention to three major concerns which need to be addressed with the utmost urgency:
a) Egyptian foreign currency reserves continue to bleed dangerously and no one knows how to stop the disastrous drain. By April, it is predicted that no more than $4 billion will be left to sustain a population of 80-90 million souls.
2. Egypt’s industrial plants are working at just 50 percent capacity because fuel is scarce and the money to buy it even scarcer.
3. Gas for powering electricity is running out. More and more areas no longer receive regular electricity – some none at all. The water supply is also affected.
