Israeli Air Force preparing to deal with chemical weapons

Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel, told reporters Wednesday that the Israeli Air Force, which he heads, is preparing for “every eventuality and threat,” when asked about the Syrian army’s possible use of chemical weapons. He added: “Syria has every kind of advanced weapon, some of then nonconventional.”
DEBKAfile disclosed earlier Wednesday that Syria had just taken delivery of sophisticated Russian Iskander missiles. Maj. Eshel went on to disclose that the Lebanese Hizballah has a plan to send small unmanned gliders into Israeli air space, some weighing no more than a few dozen kilograms. Hizballah, he said, has been stocking up on small and large drones for some time and the IAF is set to intercept them. He did not say whether the potential UAV intruders were armed or loaded with explosives.
