Although a face to face between prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama is obviously worthwhile for both, the prime minister need not expect to deflect the president from his pursuit of a nuclear deal with Tehran when they meet Monday, Sept. 30. Obama is determined to prove international problems can be resolved without military force. He and Vladimir Putin are jumping forward at speed from a Syrian accord toward an Iranian nuclear settlement. Netanyahu will get no more than soothing platitudes from Obama – no voice in either track.
